A COMPANY HUNGARY has been releasing international and Hungarian films since 2013 as an independent film distributor on the market and as the subsidiary company of the Berlin-based A COMPANY.
Our aim is to bring such successful feature films to Hungary that guarantee quality entertainment. Our portfolio contains such commercial highlights as BLACK SWAN, INTOUCHABLES, THE KING’S SPEECH, the SAW franchise and CLOUD ATLAS.
The 2014 theatrical releases contain I, FRANKENSTEIN, ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE by Jim Jarmusch, SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR and PADDINGTON, the next movie from the creators of the Harry Potter-series.
Besides international productions, A COMPANY HUNGARY pays particular attention to the distribution of Hungarian movies with such gems as the Crystal Globe-winner and 2014 Oscar-nominee THE NOTEBOOK by János Szász. Our company also has the Hungarian titles of HEAVENLY SHIFT, PARKING LOT, SWING, and in 2015 there are further Hungarian movies waiting to be screened.
Besides theatrical releases, A COMPANY HUNGARY has a strong presence in the home video entertainment industry. Our titles are available on DVD and online through Telekom, UPC and iTunes. On international level the catalogue of A COMPANY GROUP contains 750 titles, which are broadcast by 50 television channels of the region.
Another subsidiary of A COMPANY group, Budapest Film Ltd. has been a main participant of Hungarian film industry for decades. Its name equals high-profile quality feature films, arthouse and commercial successes like A KIND OF AMERIKA, HUNGARIAN VAGABOND, GLASS TIGER 1., 2., MADE IN HUNGARIA, TRAIN KEEPS A ROLLIN, KONTROLL or CATCHER – CAT CITY 2.
